Days Between Dates Calculator
Pick a start date and an end date to see exactly how many days lie between them, also broken down into weeks and into years, months and days.
How the count works
The calculator counts how many calendar days you move forward to get from the start date to the end date. From Monday to the following Monday is 7 days. From January 1 to January 2 is 1 day. This is the usual meaning of "how many days until" a date.
Some situations count both the first and the last day: a hotel booking from the 1st to the 3rd is described as three days of activity, and a contract that runs "from March 1 to March 31 inclusive" covers 31 days. Tick Include end date for those cases and the calculator adds one day.
Weeks and months
The result is also shown as whole weeks plus remaining days, and as a calendar difference in years, months and days. The calendar difference follows the way people speak: from January 31 to March 1 is "1 month and 1 day" in a non-leap year, because February is shorter.

Frequently asked questions
Can the end date be earlier than the start date? Yes. The calculator swaps them and tells you the gap is in the past.
Are time zones a problem? No. Only calendar dates are compared, so the result is the same wherever you are.
